Swing dances · with Tuballoswing

Lindy Hop

The mother of the swing dances, and they call it the dance of the smile: it was born in the American ballrooms of the Thirties and inherits their euphoria and energy.

Where you start

First year

I've never danced

The starting point. You learn to stay on the beat, to move with someone else and the basic figures: after a few classes you're dancing on the floor. No experience needed, and no partner needed.

  • 9.00 pm-10.00 pmwednesday · Main

Second year

I've done one year

You widen your vocabulary and work on the quality of movement and on the music. Anyone who started in January goes through the September refresher classes first.

After the two-year course

I've finished the two years

There's a third year, and it's the news of the season: a course of its own, with its own day, time and room, for those who have finished the two-year course and want to keep studying steadily. Before this year the answer was the short courses, which answer a different question. It's the step students asked for most insistently in the last survey.

And the short courses

Short programs on a single theme — two, three or four classes — outside the level program: you can take them without being enrolled in a course.

Shake off the rust · Lindy Hop

Four classes to wake up your muscle memory, get your feet going again and find your flow after the summer break.

Lindy Routine · Intermediate

A sequence of intermediate moves, all new for Tuballoswing and never taught before in the school. It gets your Lindy going again after the summer break and widens the repertoire of anyone who has been dancing for a few years.

Lindy Magic · Closing moves

That moment in the dance when the ending arrives and you never know how to close. Moves and ideas to finish, and several kinds of ending to interpret and fit to the music.

Lindy Dialogue · Jazz your Lindy

The jazz moves and motions inside Lindy Hop: the relationship between the two dances, explored in practice.

To be there

Wednesdays, September 23 and 30, at 9.00 pm. Free, but you have to book your place.
